I joined CAPE because mental health has always been such an important but unspoken about subject in the Asian American community. Suicide is a leading cause of death amongst young Asian Americans aged 15 to 25, so I want to do as much as I can to support my community and facilitate healing and discussion about mental health which affects all of our daily lives. Being

able to combine my love for the arts and helping those around me, CAPE has been the ultimate passion

project for me and I hope to see it continue to grow and flourish in the future.

I joined Cape because I personally resonate with Cape's goals and message. Before Cape, I had wanted to help people but I never knew how. Cape has allowed me to take real action in various fundraisers, workshops, and seminars, empowering the youth and educating others on mental health.

I joined CAPE because I felt that I was always searching for support like this community. It was validating to find more youth that were willing to uplift others, and it was rewarding to find it in a community of people like me. It helps me feel that I am able to support others like me and anyone who is seeking help through our events and advocacy.

I joined CAPE because I have always been interested in psychology and wanted to help people. Some of my friends have faced mental health challenges, which made me want to support more young people who might be struggling. CAPE gives me a platform to learn and take part in activities where I can actually help people with mental health issues, and I feel really happy to be able to do this.

This was my first time participating in a Cape workshop. I joined Cape because I wanted to experience how other teens, like myself, were struggling mentally. By understanding this, I will be able to connect with others facing these challenges and potentially help them. Cape allows me to interact with other people, which teaches me how I can be volunteering and helping the community.
